With reference to paragraphs 7 and 8 of my

confidential despatch of the 2nd of June, 1931, on

the subject of the conversion rate of sterling

salaries and Lord Passfield's telegraphic reply of

the 5th of August, 1931, I have the honour to

enclose the accompanying copy of a resolution passed

at a meeting of the Legislative Council held on the

1st of October, 1931, together with a copy of the

speech of the Colonial Secretary moving the

resolution.

There was no division and the motion was

carried unanimously.
